Week 22
Ice skating was a blast! Thanks to everyone who was able to come and help out!
Upcoming Week
This is a BIG week in First Grade!
Tuesday is our 101st day celebration AND our in-school performance of Pajama Party!! Remember to send Firsties in PJs with a stuffed animal on Tuesday.
**Wednesday is our main performance of Pajama Party at St. Joe High School. Please arrive by 5:35! You will not want to miss this! Students need to wear pajamas and bring a stuffed animal. Upon arrival, please wait in the lobby until the previous show ends. Students should remain with parents until otherwise instructed by Mrs. Richards (or another teacher).
**Keep in mind that parking can be challenging at the High School, particularly if multiple events are happening. Please allow extra time.
Valentine’s Day
Mark your calendars for February 14 at 1:20pm for our class parties. Parents are welcome to join.
Students are encouraged to bring in Valentines for their classmates. We will send home a paper copy of our classlists so that your Firstie may include the name of each classmate. We each have 26 students.
We will be decorating bags together in class for students to use to collect their Valentines.
If your Firstie is in Mrs. Fiesbeck's class and you'd like to help out, please add your name to this signup sheet . Please see your email for info on Ms. Gould's party.
We are working on:
Adding and subtracting multiples of ten to 120
Adding and subtracting fluently within 20
Learning all we can about physical characteristics of birds
Reading and writing words with the patterns ir and er and ur in words like: hurt, turtle, world, harder, hamburgers, shirt, skirt, and farmer.
High frequency words: color, earth, world, work, world
Ask your Firstie:
What do you know about the green bee eater, the great spotted woodpecker, and mallards?
What are some different functions of feathers?
What shapes can you see on birds?
